Made Glorious Summer, written and directed by Graham Collier, won Best New Play and the script was put forward in 2011 by the Spelthorne & Runnymede adjudicator (Mike Kaiser) for the National George Taylor Memorial Award 2011/2012. The judging process has taken some time, but we are very pleased to announce that the script was awarded 3rd place.
There were 3 judges, here is an exerpt from some of their comments:
“It is full of vigour and presence, and the author/adaptor has chosen cleverly. The characters are lifted off the page and become real and huge. We are sucked into this story and hardly dare breathe as we watch the entrapment of Ethan unfold.”
Many congratulations to Graham, a great result especially for his first play!
Please come and support Graham’s second play “Stay’d For”, which is currently in rehearsals for the October Festival season.
At Woking Drama Festival, it will be performed on Friday October 11th, at 7pm and Spelthorne & Runymeade Festival will be performed on Saturday October 25th, at 7pm
