We are an friendly, amateur, community-based drama group based in Ottershaw, Surrey since 1963. Our emphasis is on comedies and straight plays, rather than musicals, though we have been known to break our own rule sometimes.
Currently we are performing two to three major shows a year locally in our village hall, Brook Hall. At Christmas we often do a production aimed towards children, though pantomimes are not our thing.
We are always looking for more talent on stage, backstage, front of house or in an administrative role. While we encourage all our members to strive towards excellence and imrpovement in all their roles, our main priority is entertainment, both for ourselves and our audiences.
Forthcoming events are shown in the “Coming Soon” link on the left. For more details, including ticket prices and booking information, click the relevant event title.
Ottershaw Players do not have a regular meeting outside rehearsals, but when we are rehearsing a play you will usually find us on a Sunday evening in Brook Hall, though please do get in touch first to check that we are definitely going to be there – we certainly welcome potential new members to just drop in, but we wouldn’t want you to have a wasted journey if we’re having a week off!
Whether you want to:
* Construct or paint scenery
* Stage manage
* Look after wigs, props or costumes
* Run lighting
* Organise sound
we are always looking out for new members who wish to participate in any (or all!) of these areas.
Our annual subscription rate is £20 for adults and £10 for under-18s and students. We also have a family rate of £40 for two adults and children under the age of 18, living at one address.
