Caught On The Hop:
Returning home unexpectedly from a rendezvous with her lover, Sophie finds that her husband Etienne is absent and immediately suspects him of philandering. She accidentally spills brandy on the porter’s trousers; the poor man soon finds himself trouserless & desperately worried by the return of Etienne, who is disguised as the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Further complications ensue with the porter disguised as Sophie’s aged aunt and the arrival of a tipsy Esmeralda. Clothilde, the long-suffering maid, provides the final twist to this delightful comedy.
A funny and poignant play written for a cast of 9 young actors. Jake writes magical and fantastic stories in secret. To save himself from a gang of bullies, Jake weaves his best story yet. It is so good that the gang drop their tough trendy act and demand starring roles in the unfolding drama of mystery, danger, love… and the final encounter with Sparkleshark.
